The other day I had a couple of siding repair jobs in the Thornwilde neighborhood in Hebron, KY. Both of these homes happened to be on the same street and had the same problem--a piece of siding had popped off at the bottom and was hanging loose on the house.
Using my 32-foot ladder, I was able to check these projects off my customers' to-do lists.
I noticed that these homes had a recurring problem with siding pops on these specific pieces. One home even had a few small nails driven in to try to keep the siding in place. Unfortunately, the constant wind movement and flexing from heating and cooling caused them to come loose again over time, even when using nails. To give a more permanent fix, I used silicone caulk down the entire joint, which should fix the problem over the long-run.
If you're having siding problems with a popped piece or pieces, give me a call at 859-878-2100 or email me at james@servicesbysignature and I'll help check these projects off your to-do list as well.
